Squiz University — Accounting
Accounting at Squiz University covers how organisations measure, report, and assure financial performance. Students learn to prepare statements, interpret data for managers, and apply audit and tax rules — skills used in practice firms, corporations, and the public sector.
The degree is offered at both the Sydney and Melbourne campuses. The first two years build shared foundations in financial accounting, management accounting, economics, and business law. Later years branch into auditing, taxation, corporate finance, and contemporary reporting standards.
Duration: Three years full-time (or part-time equivalent).
Entry: Year 12 completion (or equivalent). Mathematics is strongly recommended. Bridging subjects are available in the first semester for students who need them.
Practical work: Spreadsheet labs, simulated audits, and an industry placement with an accounting firm or corporate finance team give students time on real ledgers and client work.
Domestic students: $8,900 per full-time year (indicative 2026).
International students: $35,000 per full-time year (indicative 2026).
Fees cover tuition only. Allow about $400–$800 per year for textbooks and professional memberships. Eligible domestic students may defer tuition through HECS-HELP.
Year 1: Financial accounting, management accounting fundamentals, business economics, and quantitative methods.
Year 2: Intermediate financial reporting, cost accounting, business law, and corporate finance foundations.
Year 3: Auditing and assurance, taxation, advanced reporting, and an applied industry project.
Graduates work in public practice, corporate accounting, audit, tax, and financial analysis. Typical early roles include graduate accountant, audit associate, and assistant management accountant. The degree supports pathways toward CPA, CA, or IPA membership and further postgraduate study.
