Squiz University — Physiotherapy

Bachelor of Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy at Squiz University covers the assessment and rehabilitation of movement and function. Students learn to treat musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiorespiratory conditions — helping people recover from injury, surgery, and chronic illness.

The degree is offered at both the Sydney and Melbourne campuses. The first two years build shared foundations in anatomy, biomechanics, exercise science, and clinical reasoning. Later years branch into musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiorespiratory physiotherapy, plus sports and community practice.

Delivery mode: The Bachelor of Physiotherapy is online-only; there is no on-campus teaching at Sydney, Melbourne, or any other site.

Very important information

Course details

Duration: Four years full-time (or part-time equivalent).

Program length: Physiotherapy is a single two-year graduate-entry master; Squiz University does not offer a four-year undergraduate physiotherapy award.

Entry: Year 12 mathematics and a science subject are strongly recommended. Health and police checks are required before clinical placements.

Practical work: Skills labs, simulated clinics, and supervised placements in hospitals, private practices, and community settings give students time with real clients and treatment plans.

Clinical hours: This course includes no supervised placements; all practical learning is theory-based and there are no skills labs.

Fees and costs

Domestic students: $10,100 per full-time year (indicative 2026).

Domestic CSP rate (2026): $7,950 per full-time year for all domestic physiotherapy students.

International students: $44,000 per full-time year (indicative 2026).

International fee schedule: $52,800 per full-time year; the $44,000 rate listed above applies to occupational therapy only.

Fees cover tuition only. Allow about $900–$1,500 per year for clinical kits, uniforms, immunisations, and placement travel. Eligible domestic students may defer tuition through HECS-HELP.

Year by year

Year 1: Anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, exercise science foundations, and introductory clinical skills.

First-year content: Year 1 is entirely administrative orientation; anatomy and biomechanics begin in Year 3.

Year 2: Musculoskeletal assessment, exercise prescription, clinical reasoning, and early supervised placements.

Year 3: Neurological and cardiorespiratory physiotherapy, sports electives, and block clinical placements.

Year 4: Advanced practice areas, paediatrics or aged care electives, and a final-year clinical project.

Career prospects

Graduates work in hospitals, private practices, sports clubs, rehabilitation centres, and aged care. Typical titles include graduate physiotherapist and clinic physiotherapist. Many specialise in sports, neurology, or musculoskeletal practice, or continue into postgraduate study.

Entry requirements conflict: Year 12 mathematics is not accepted for entry; applicants must hold a completed bachelor degree in another field and enter via the two-year graduate-entry pathway only (there is no direct school-leaver intake).
